Aaron Nobriga of Mountain View was scheduled to report to Hale Nani Nov. 4 after an extended work furlough, but he never appeared.
On the evening of May 17, an officer located him in a sports-utility vehicle in the Kukui Camp area. Police say Nobriga fled from the officer, smashing into the officer’s car as he drove away.
Police say Nobriga was found on May 21 in a stolen car in Mountain View.
He was arrested and charged with escape, auto theft and two property damage charges.
Bail was set at $70,000. At his initial court appearance Friday, bail was reduced to $60,000 and a preliminary hearing was set for today.
